    The Senior Accountant is responsible for recording and analyzing costs related to Hotel activities including food beverage, supplies, and retail. The Position ensures accuracy of inventory details and carrying values and is responsible for account reconciliations and analysis of all categories of inventories at each reporting date, including reconciliation of inventory sub system reports to the financial statements.

    Role requires communication with personnel on vessels to ensure proper and complete reporting of Ship board transactions and resolution of discrepancies.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Adhere to Company policy and GAAP requirements in inventory accounting and expense recognition.
    • Oversees completeness and documentation of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations in accordance with company internal control policies.
    • Supports the annual budget process by providing historic trends and projections in assigned areas and updates Lawson system with monthly budgeted amounts.
    • Publishes monthly recaps of Ship board costs and operating metrics.
    • Maintain communication with vessel Controllers to ensure completeness in inventory perpetual records.
    • Oversee accuracy in the inventory system as related to financial data.
    • Work with administrative departments to ensure operating costs are recognized in the appropriate period.
    • Maintenance of the accounting reports in the inventory system.
    • Primary support for external annual audit related to assigned areas.
    • Other duties, as assigned


    Month End Close Responsibility:

    • Prepare accurate journal entries for hotel operating costs.
    • Ensure inventory records properly stated.
    • Prepare monthly summary of managerial metrics such as food costs and other variable expense dependent on ship occupancy.
    • Record various operating expenses.
    • Adhere to month end close schedule. Work is completed by 4th working day of each month.
    • Completion of key balance sheet account reconciliation during month end close.
