  • Overview

    Responsible for all aspects of conceptualizing and implementing company brand and market strategy. Provides leadership to the marketing and public relations team and oversees all aspects of marketing function, including lead generation, advertising, direct mail marketing, e-commerce, marketing collateral, public relations and communications. Participates on the Windstar Executive Team and has broad responsibility for driving the company’s revenue and growth objectives.


    • Provides visionary marketing and creative communications leadership fostering innovation, excellence and building bridges internally and externally to create opportunities for advancement of Windstar strategic objectives.
    • Develops and continuously refines company branding strategy, capturing Windstar’s unique value proposition and market niche, bringing to life the timeless story of Windstar, leveraging testimonial economy to promote the brand, exciting imagination of our current and prospective customers. 
    • Champions a customer centric organization, interacting and collaborating effectively with individuals across the company to continuously bring forward and integrate customer insights and perception of value into operational strategy.
    • Engages key target audiences to generate widespread awareness of unique Windstar product through a variety of creative methods, including new media, social networking, direct marketing, video, print, web, e-mail and news media; uses enhanced testing and measurement to continuously assess effectiveness of each method; makes it easy for internal and external customers to connect with the company
    • Continuously improves Company’s on-line presence and Web Strategy. Develops and manages all online lead generation programs including social media, SEO and SEM
    • Builds, nurtures and leverages strategic partnerships with tourism boards, destination marketing entities, travel agencies and other 3rd party entities.
    • Responsible for all direct mail marketing strategies and efforts. Develops and manages ROI reporting across the business to include: the lead generation campaign with highly accurate cost of lead and cost of conversion analytics; comprehensive on-line and SEO reporting analytics.
    • Responsible for all aspects of public relations and corporate communications, including employee communications: partners with the CEO, and acts as key crisis communication professional in the event of a corporate crisis.
    • Provides leadership, support and coaching to the marketing department team; manages performance and professional development of marketing staff, addresses performance issues as appropriate.
    • Manages annual advertising spending, forecasting and budgeting ensuring that funds are effectively deployed and support Windstar’s strategic objectives.


    • Minimum education requires a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or a related field.
    • Minimum of 7 –10 years or more related job experience required within the tourism/hospitality sector, as well as broad understanding of travel and cruise industry.
    • Extensive work experience in building e-marketing strategies to generate increased growth.
    • Attention to detail, especially in the proofreading area, required.
    • Strong computer skills and knowledge; familiarity with creative and graphics programs desirable.
    • Overall knowledge and skills of both theoretical and practical application of a recognized discipline; or diverse knowledge of several unrelated disciplines.
    • Strong management, organizational, decision-making, and presentation skills required.
